Spotlight on UofL Cares charities

by UofL Today last modified Oct 28, 2010 04:49 PM

Each Friday over the next five weeks, the UofL Cares campaign will spotlight one of its companion charitable organizations on UofL Today to showcase the benefits or positive outcomes of supporting its cause.

This week's spotlight is on Kosair Charities.

"As members of the university community, these features give us an opportunity to learn more about each of the organizations that make up the UofL Cares campaign," said Dwight Dozier, campaign co-chair.

What if Kosair Charities had not been there?

Every day, Kosair Charities answers this question for thousands of children who need medical care.

Since 1923, Kosair Charities has changed the lives of hundreds of thousands of children by providing the highest quality health care for those who had nowhere else to turn. Through support from donors, children receive the medical care they desperately need.

Over the years, Kosair Charities has given more than $295 million to serve children in Kentucky and Southern Indiana.

Grateful parents have this to say:

"Doctors told us if it weren't for Kosair Charities, Joshua wouldn't be with us today."

"Without Kosair Charities making this surgery possible, we might have lost our son. We're very thankful."
