Human Resources welcomes new faculty and staff to UofL through a formal orientation process each week.

Every few weeks, UofL Today will profile some new members of the UofL community and will list the names of the others who have attended orientation.

Meet some of the newest members of the UofL community:


Name: Nirmal Kumar Srinivasan
Prefer to be called: Nirmal
UofL title and department: post-doctoral research fellow, Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences
Short description of your job: Conducting hearing research at ZAPLAB and Heuser Hearing Institute.
Why chose UofL: Because of research and facilities
Schools attended: University of Nebraska-Lincoln
Hobbies/Activities: Playing cricket, hiking, camping
Favorite Book: “Atlas Shrugged”
Favorite Music: A.R. Rahman


Name: Ganapathy Jagatheesan
Prefer to be called: Jack
UofL title and department:post-doctoral scholar, Department of Medicine
Short description of your job: Investigating the effect of aldehydes on the cardiovascular physiology during ischemia-reperfusion injury.
Why chose UofL: Has a very strong cardiovascular research group.
Schools attended: University of Cincinnati as a research scientist
Hobbies/activities: Reading novels, playing chess, watching sports

Name: Amit Khanna

Name: Shayla Harrington

Short description of your job: I will care for and educate the youngest members of our community.
