Human Resources welcomes new faculty and staff to UofL through a formal orientation process each week. Every few weeks, UofL Today profiles some new members of the UofL community and lists the names of the others who have attended orientation.

Meet some of the newest members of the UofL community:

Name: Hannah Brooks
UofL title and department: library technician, Ekstrom Library
Short job description: I work in the media resources department of the library
Why chose UofL: I would love to pursue a career in library sciences, and what better place than UofL?
Schools attended: Centre College, BA in religion
Hobbies/Activities: backpacking, hiking, gardening, reading
Favorite book: “Anna Karenina” by Leo Tolstoy
Favorite music: Johnny Flynn, Laura Marling, Noah and the Whale, Avett Brothers

Name: Sherry Glenn
UofL title and department: administrative assistant, classical and modern languages
Short job description: assistant to the American Sign Language department
Why chose UofL: Decided to follow by dream of becoming an ASL interpreter.
Schools attended: UofL, Sullivan
Hobbies/Activities: spending time with family, practicing sign language
Favorite book: “The Dream Manager”
Favorite music: gospel, Christian
Anything else you’d like people to know: active member of New Birth Ministry Center

Name: Darryl Kaelin, MD
UofL title and department: chief, Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in Department of Neurosurgery
Short job description: medical director of Frazier Rehab Institute
Why chose UofL: UofL native and med school graduate ’91. Coming back to Louisville after 20 years away.
Schools attended: Notre Dame, UofL School of Medicine, Medical College of Virginia
