1.) Lee Luvisi and Faculty Gala kick off fall concerts this week

Lee Luvisi, piano, will take the stage tonight to open the fall concert season at the School of Music. He will be followed by the 21st Faculty Gala concert, 8 p.m., Friday, featuring diverse vocal and instrumental works by composers over the centuries.

Eric Russ, PhD, assistant professor, UofL Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, will present “Expanding Perspectives on Trauma and PTSD: Complex Trauma, Personality, and Implications for Psychotherapy.”

We invite you to UofL Department of Medicine Grand Rounds featuring Jesse Roman, MD, professor of medicine and chairman of the department. He will present “Stressors vs. Stimulants: A Department’s Approach to the Challenges of the Day,” in which he will discuss the biological concept of stressors vs. stimulants, exploring how the lung responds to oxidant stress and its implication, and using the above information to evaluate the department’s approach to the challenges of day.

4.) Tomorrow’s Neuroscience Grand Rounds: The Pathological Network of Temporal Lobe Epilepsy

The Department of Neurosurgery is pleased to have Donald Gross, MD, present “The Pathological Network of Temporal Lobe Epilepsy.” Gross is an associate professor and the Epilepsy Program director for the Department of Neurology at the University of Alberta, in Alberta, Canada. Continuing education credit is available, and continental breakfast will be served.
