7.) Space heaters: New policy limits their use
Effective Nov. 1 any portable space heater that isn’t UofL fire marshal approved must be removed
UofL strongly discourages the use of space heaters for safety and energy use reasons and has developed a policy to restrict their use. UofL will strive to maintain room temperatures this winter at 66 F to 72 F during occupied hours. If acceptable ambient room temperatures are not maintained within that range, people should request a room temperature audit and adjustment. After a temperature adjustment, if the range cannot be maintained at 66 F to 72 F, the fire marshal may approve temporary use of a space heater that meets defined specifications.
Additional Information: Read the policy (PDF). Request temperature audit/adjustment, 852-6245.
