1.) Reminder — Brown bag lunch for parents, caregivers this Thursday

The Work-Life Balance committee for Great Places to Work is hosting a new monthly brown bag lunch series to reach out and connect parents and caregivers who are dealing with the same issues. Each month, the group will discuss a different topic. The meeting will include discussion of a new Great Places to Work work-life balance Web page and available resources to families; as well as open discussion for participants to bring forth any topic.

2.) Indian Professional Council Networking Event

4.) Medicine Grand Rounds: 2013 Charles C. Smith Jr. Lecture

Join us for Medicine Grand Rounds and the 2013 Charles C. Smith Jr. Lecture featuring David Battinelli, MD, the Betsy Cushing Whitney Professor of Medicine and dean of Medical Education at Hofstra North Shore-Long Island Jewish School of Medicine. Battinelli will present “Redesigning Medical Education: Lessons from Little League Baseball” focusing on learning to design pedagogy on guiding principles, challenging educational myths, and embracing opportunities for change. 6.) Bio-hazardous Waste and Medical Waste Program change
Due to increased disposal costs, all university personnel will be required to follow recently developed bio-hazardous waste segregation guidelines. View these important changes. Also, labs will be required to label each full bio-hazardous waste container with a vendor bar code label. To obtain these labels visit the DEHS Radiation Safety Office located in Library Commons Room 102 or email your request to Cathy Price.
