1.) Kentucky Women’s Book Festival coming soon
9:30 a.m. (Doors open at 9 a.m.) May 18 Ekstrom Library
Free sessions; RSVP for lunch: $16
Meet and network with Kentucky women writers as they share their experiences and works in a variety of workshops, and sign up to participate in a poetry slam at the 7th Annual Kentucky Women’s Book Festival. Bianca Spriggs, an Affrilachian and performance poet, will give the keynote lunch address. See a complete list of writers and poets who will participate. Lunch reservations must be made by May 15. 2.) Run for the 'L' of it
8 a.m.-11 a.m. May 25, Fourth Street Live
Early registration $20; $10 for students. Includes a T-shirt.
Registration is under way for Run for the “L” of It, a 5K UofL Alumni Association run and walk. The Memorial Day Saturday event is suitable for all ages. Runners and walkers will leave from Fourth and Liberty streets and continue through downtown Louisville.

4.) Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women’s Health

We welcome Thomas Abell, MD, professor of medicine, chair of gastroenterology, and director of the GI Motility Clinic, UofL School of Medicine, who will present “Common GI Motility Disorders in Ob/Gyn.” He will identify upper and lower GI motility disorders, explain motility diagnostic methods and discuss new motility drugs and devices.

Do you use the Tegrity course capture system? Tegrity will undergo a significant hardware upgrade from 10 p.m. Friday, May 24, until 8 a.m. Sunday, May 26. The system will be unavailable during this time.

Miscellaneous
7.) Pre-2010 Blackboard course shells to be deleted
All pre-2010 Blackboard course shells remaining on the active Blackboard server will be deleted after Friday, May 31, as part of our course archive and purge cycle. If there is a need to retain any content from these course shells, users should export the contents to a local drive for later access. These courses have been archived and can be restored for a limited time at a later date to retrieve content if necessary.

Michael Sowell, MD, and Anand Vaishnav, MD, MPH, and the Department of Neurology are pleased to present, “Advances in Neurology 2013.” This CME event is for neurologists, primary care physicians, neuroscientists, nurses and all other interested health care professionals. This year’s symposium will cover a broad variety of topics in neurology including headache, epilepsy, neuromuscular disorders, movement disorders and stroke.
