1.) Dance Theatre presents the 2013 Spring Gala
7 p.m. May 17 and 18 Margaret Comstock Concert Hall
$15 general; $5 for students and seniors
The School of Music’s Dance Theatre presents the annual Spring Gala. The show features ballet and modern works choreographed and performed by pre-professional dancers. Choreography is by co-directors Cynthia Bronner and Chuck Bronson, Katie Chal and Theresa Bautista.

Health and Wellness
2.) Group fitness, Zumba, boot camp and yoga classes
Noon and 5:15 p.m. beginning May 13 Student Activities Center and Health Sciences Fitness Center
First week free; $30 for faculty, staff and students after the first week
Intramural and Recreational Sports is offering group fitness classes for the summer. Classes are located at the SAC Recreation Center and the HSC Fitness Center. To register, stop by the Intramural Sports Office, SAC Room E-102, or the HSC Fitness Center. For more information call 852-6707 or 852-3115.

3.) You can do it — Become a nonsmoker
Noon-1 p.m. May 17 Health Sciences Center, James Graham Brown Cancer Center, first floor
Free to all
UofL Kentucky Cancer Program is sponsoring free Cooper Clayton Smoking Cessation classes. The program consists of 13 one-hour weekly Friday sessions. The class is open to all ages 18 and over. Participants use nicotine replacement products such as the nicotine patch, nicotine gum or nicotine lozenge (free to class attendees). This is a science-based program which uses education, skills training and social support.

4.) Tuition Remission for Summer 2013
Attention all employees and dependents using tuition remission for Summer 2013. Please click here to submit the online form. Employees have until May 14 to withdraw with 100 percent refund for summer Term I. Note: Withdrawals which do not result in a refund of 100 percent of tuition paid shall constitute unsatisfactory performance for the semester.

It’s not too late to register for the i2a Institute, now in its fifth year. Attend the institute to connect with your colleagues and national experts and engage in the process of fostering and assessing critical thinking skills across the undergraduate experience.
