As part of Neuroscience Grand Rounds, the Department of Neurosurgery is pleased to have Maxwell Boakye, MD, MPH, MBA, FACS, FAANS, present “The National Neurosurgery Outcomes Registry: N2QOD — Initial Results.” Boakye is an associate professor, Ole A., Mabel Wise & Wilma Wise Nelson endowed chair, and chief of spinal neurosurgery, Department of Neurosurgery, UofL. Continuing education credit is available, and continental breakfast will be served.

Abstract submission and registration forms are now live for the 23rd Annual Louisville Neuroscience Day to be held April 11. The deadline for abstract submission and registration is March 22, 5 p.m. Three abstracts from each category will be chosen for the Data Blitz. See website for more information.

7.) UofL’s lab equipment maintenance program with Unity Lab Services /Thermo Asset Management
UofL entered into a contract with Unity Lab Services / Thermo Asset Management for the management and service of laboratory instruments and equipment. This program is designed to deliver improved quality of service, reduce overall service spend and increase laboratory compliance. Unity Lab Services program replaced The Remi Group contract effective March 1, 2013.

8.) March Madness at the UClub
6 p.m. March 14, University Club
$8.95 ++
The university community is invited to a big game-watching party at the club Thursday beginning at 6 p.m. The meal is $8.95 ++. Discounted adult beverages will be available. You may phone in your reservation, or reserve online. Additionally, the university community is welcome to watch all the games at the University Club. Look for updated details as the Cards continue to win.

9.) Green Tip: Green Threads faculty workshop applications due March 29
Interested in integrating themes of environmental, social and economic stewardship into your courses? The Sustainability Council invites faculty from all disciplines to participate in this year’s Green Threads: Sustainability across the Curriculum workshop on Reading Day (April 23). You’ll network with faculty from across UofL and receive a $500 honorarium; resource materials for course development; and info on campus, local and regional sustainability issues. Applications due March 29.

11.) Discussion on international student immigration regulations

The International Center’s Student and Scholar Services Office invites faculty and staff to an information and discussion on immigration regulations and university policies on international students and scholars (F & J visa holders). The session is designed for UofL faculty and staff to learn about admission and enrollment requirements, employment benefits, travel regulations as well as cultural and adjustment issues of international students and scholars. Light refreshments provided.
