Grand Rounds
1.) Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Women’s Health
1 p.m. June 21 Ambulatory Care Building, Auditorium, Health Sciences Center
“Did you hear what I think I said? Cross-cultural Communication Challenges in Obstetrics and Gynecology” will be presented by Carol Brees, MD, assistant professor, Generalist Division, Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women’s Health, and Department of Family and Geriatric Medicine, UofL. She will define and give examples of cultural competency and suggest UofL resources to improve cross-cultural patient-physician communication.

2.) Ophthalmology
7:30 a.m. June 21 Kentucky Lions Eye Center, Basement Conference Room
Free to all UofL faculty, residents and students
Peter Gehlbach, MD, PhD, associate professor of ophthalmology, The Wilmer Eye Institute, The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, will present, “Vitrectomy for Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy.” Resident case presentations with a question-and-answer session will follow.

3.) Root Cellar to sell veggies on campus
Thursdays starting June 20, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., University Club parking lot
UofL has partnered with the Root Cellar to bring faculty, staff and students fresh food products (vegetables, meats, dairy products, etc.,) on a farmer’s market basis. No prior reservation is needed for purchase.
