Free, open to all employees
President James Ramsey, Provost Shirley Willihnganz and Executive Vice Presidents David Dunn and Bill Pierce invite faculty and staff to enjoy Comfy Cow ice cream while socializing with them and their fellow employees. The Great Places to Work initiative sponsors the events.

2.) Cardinal Takeover at Kentucky Speedway
12:30 p.m. June 29, Kentucky Speedway, Sparta, Ky.
$135 per person ($250 value)
The UofL Alumni Association invites faculty, staff and students to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series “Quaker 400.” Each ticket includes admission to the race, access to the exclusive Cardinal Takeover Hospitality Tent (free food, Coca-Cola beverages, guided pit tour, Fan Zone pass (go behind the scenes before the race and be stageside for Billy Currington concert). The first 200 guests at the hospitality tent will receive a collectible Quaker State Louisville Slugger miniature bat. NASCAR driver Ryan Newman also will make an appearance.

How would you describe your worship lately? Random, regular, lively, boring, energizing, meaningless? Come join us Wednesday morning to discuss importance of making it life-changing based on Isaiah chapter 29. It’s a great time for the UofL community to come together for fellowship, encouragement, Bible study and prayer. Future meetings scheduled for: June 26 & July 10. 5.) Faculty: Save the date and take part in a hands-on approach to course (re)design
Noon – 2 p.m. July 11 Delphi Center, Ekstrom Library, Belknap Campus
This interactive session will provide you with the opportunity to think through the fundamentals of course design in a new way. Join Steve Dwinnells, Aimee Greene and Patty Payette as they help you explore how to redesign or re-envision a course you are currently teaching, or tackle the design of a brand new course. A light lunch will be served.

6.) Dealing with Difficult People

Free
Some people are just plain hard to get along with, but you don’t have to let them get under your skin. Knowing how to deal with difficult people at work will allow you to approach your job with more enjoyment and your coworkers with greater confidence. In this workshop, we will examine the characteristics of a difficult person, what challenges may be the root cause of their behavior, as well as strategies for understanding and coping with the difficult behavior.
