Pediatric Grand Rounds will feature Alexander Asamoah, MD. Asamoah will speak about neurocutaneous syndromes, including recognizing diagnostic criteria for neurofibromatosis types 1 and 2 and tuberous sclerosis and discussing the management of NF1 and complications associated with the disorder. We hope to see you there.

Check out the new classes and offerings on GHN’s July Group Fitness Calendar. From Ab Lab to ZUMBA, there is something for everyone. Our newest offering, Get R.I.P.P.E.D, the one-stop body shock™, is a “Plateau Proof Fitness Formula” that uses resistance, intervals, power, plyometrics, and endurance to help you create continuity, consistency and challenge in your workout. Try it out on Mondays at 5:30 p.m. with certified instructor Angela Keene. Find out more and mark your calendar.

3.) JGBCC Announces Molecular Targets CoBRE Pilot Project Funding
Free
The James Graham Brown Cancer Center announces Cycle I of the Molecular Targets CoBRE Pilot Project Program. The program objective is to fund early stage research projects aimed at identification of new cancer drug targets and development of novel preclinical agents with an emphasis on translational studies with a high potential for advancement to clinical studies. Applications are in 2 parts — the first being a 1-page pre-proposal due July 17. The RFP is available from Diane Konzen.

4.) University Wind Ensemble and Chamber Players Switzerland Send-Off Concert
7 p.m. July 6 Youth Performing Arts School—Polly St. Clair Concert Hall
Free and open to the public
The University Wind Ensemble and Chamber Players have been invited to perform at the 2013 Jungfrau Music Festival in Interlaken, Switzerland. In addition to their gala concert performances on July 9 and 10, they also have been selected as the participant ensemble for the Festival's Conducting Masterclasses. Please join us this Saturday evening to extend our support and well wishes to the group before they depart the next morning for this outstanding opportunity.
