1.) What did the 1963 March on Washington mean to you?
Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his famous “I Have a Dream” speech at the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. The event and his words were pivotal in the Civil Rights Movement. The Commission on Diversity and Racial Equality asks faculty, staff and students to send written comments or arrange with CODRE to have their remarks video or audio taped by Aug. 7. The reflections will be part of a 50th anniversary campus event on Aug. 28.

You’re invited to experience the benefits of reflection, stillness and being fully present in this four-week “Intro to Mindfulness” class hosted by Get Healthy Now. What is Mindfulness? Jon Kabat-Zinn defines it as “paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally.” Learn and practice simple mindfulness techniques with Paul Salmon, PhD. No previous experience or materials needed. Space is limited, enroll today.
