Health and Wellness

1.) DEHS offers tips for avoiding, dealing with the flu

There has been a sudden rise in flu cases throughout the United States. In Kentucky, the flu activity is now considered to be widespread. Many of the reported cases are H1N1 influenza. Fortunately, this year’s flu vaccine targets the H1N1 strain.  How can you protect yourself from getting the flu? And how can you take care of yourself if you happen to get the flu? The university has prepared an information sheet; access it here.

Information Technology

2.) SharePoint to be offline, network outages planned for Friday night

10 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, to 2 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18

SharePoint will be offline and users will experience intermittent outages as the network undergoes maintenance activities during IT’s regular preventive maintenance period. Other systems (e.g. Blackboard, email, instant messaging, PeopleSoft, ULink, data services, etc.) may be taken offline without notice. For complete information on IT’s preventive maintenance period, click here.
