“Culture and Spirituality in the Traditional Arts of North Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia” has more than 100 works of art and artifacts, including a wide variety of textiles and craftwork in leather, metal, glass, jewelry, felt, stone and clay.

2.) HSC to host second open forum on 21st Century University Initiative
9 a.m. Jan. 31, Kornhauser Auditorium, Health Sciences Center
President James Ramsey and Provost Shirley Willihnganz will have a second open forum for faculty and staff to discuss the 21st Century University Initiative. They and others will talk about results of a campus-wide SWOT analysis and planned next steps and will take faculty and staff questions. More than 80 people attended the first forum Jan. 16 on Belknap Campus.

6.) Nominations sought for 2013 Trustees Award
Deadline is Feb. 15
The university community is asked to nominate faculty members for the 2013 Trustees Award. The award recognizes faculty members who have had an extraordinary impact on students’ college experience. Recipients receive a cash award, plaque and recognition at spring commencement.
Additional Information: Nomination instructions and forms are available through any academic department or online through the Office of the President.

7.) HSC Faculty: Learn how to take a learner-centered approach to your teaching

All HSC faculty are invited to attend a special one-hour presentation, “Taking a Learner-Centered Approach to Teaching in the Health Sciences,” by Terry Doyle, nationally recognized author and educational consultant. Doyle is this year’s Celebration of Teaching and Learning keynote speaker. Continuing education credit is available (medicine, dentistry and nursing). Lunch will be provided. Sponsored by the Health Sciences Center-Delphi Faculty Development Partnership.
