There are no monthly membership fees for UofL employees at the Get Healthy Now Wellness Center at Humana Gym. It is open Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. It’s filled to the brim with state-of-the-art equipment, offers fitness and wellness classes to keep you motivated and the locker rooms are fully refinished. 1.) Speed School Business Center holding an open house

Free

Be one of the first to see inside Speed School’s consolidated Business Center for finance, accounting, payroll, hiring, procurement, grants management and other related business services. Stop by for a tour of this pilot study shared service center, part of the UofL 21st Century Initiative. Ribbon cutting at 2:15. Light refreshments served.

2.) Pediatric behavioral and mental health symposium scheduled

Sept. 19, 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Home of the Innocents, 1100 E. Market St.

$75 physicians; $50 all other healthcare professionals; free UofL students and residents

Join us as the Alliance for Pediatric Behavioral and Mental Health, in conjunction with the University of Louisville Department of Pediatrics and CME&PD, presents the “Third Annual Symposium on Pediatric Behavioral and Mental Health: Collaborations to Build Resilience and Strengthen Relationships.” Registration required.

3.) Save the date for Women's Equality Day

Aug. 26, film at noon in Administrative Annex Building; 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., voter registration, MITC.

Join the UofL Women's Center in celebration of Women's Equality Day with a free showing of the highly acclaimed "Iron Jawed Angels," which talks about women activists in their struggle to help women win the right to vote. The movie will be shown in the Administrative Annex Building, located across the parking lot of Grawemeyer Hall. Also, the Jefferson County Clerk's office will be on hand for voter registration in the Miller Information Technology Center from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

4.) Children 8 to 13 years needed for anxiety and worry study

Life Sciences Building, Room 363

Are you stressed? Is your child stressed, anxious, worried? We can help! The UofL Developmental Psychopathology Lab is conducting a study examining the nature of worry and anxiety in parents and children. Parents and their children between the ages of 8 and 13 years are eligible to participate. Participants will receive free diagnostic interviews, detailed feedback and a report outlining the results of our assessment. IRB #13.0923

Please join us this week as Ron Paul, M.D., presents "Visual Diagnosis." Dr. Paul will review common and uncommon clinical presentations of pediatric diseases and discuss initial treatment recommendations.

Dr. Robert F. James, associate professor in UofL’s Department of Neurosurgery and chief of vascular neurosurgery, will present "Advancements in Minimally Invasive Treatment of Intracranial and Intraventricular Hemorrhage: MISTIE and APOLLO." This event provides 1 CME credit to MDs and DOs who attend or watch live on the web. Continental breakfast is provided.
