1.) Gheens Science Hall & Rauch Planetarium, ‘Skies Over Louisville: Summer Edition’
8 p.m. Aug. 9 Gheens Science Hall and Rauch Planetarium
Join us for the summer edition of our monthly Skies Over Louisville live star and constellation presentation. Telescopes on the terrace with LAS follow, weather permitting. Top off the evening by staying for the “Laser Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon” show at 9 p.m. Special pricing for UofL faculty, staff and students: $6 per person for one program, $11/person for two programs.

2.) Exhibition: Motown in Black and White
Aug. 30 - Nov. 10, Muhammad Ali Center, 144 N. Sixth St.
Entrance fee, $9 for adults
Photographs, costumes and other memorabilia are used in this exhibition to document the impact that Motown had on breaking down racial barriers and shaping American culture, The Muhammad Ali Center is a member of UofL’s Center for Arts and Culture Partnership.

Please join the Delphi Center and Glen Garrett from iClicker for lunch and a session on WebClicker (iClickerGO) today. Webclicker (iClickerGO) is a tool that allows students the convenience of using their smart phone or laptop as a clicker for in-class polling. Lunch is being provided for this session.

4.) Lab Safety/Hazardous Waste Training & Radiation Safety Orientation
9 a.m. - 11 a.m. Lab Safety; 11 a.m. - noon Radiation Safety Aug. 8 Baxter I, basement auditorium
Free
Lab employees who work with chemicals should attend the Lab Safety/Hazardous Waste session if they have not had the training in three years. Individuals who will work with or around radioactive materials should attend the Radiation Safety Orientation session. Bring employee/student ID number to sign in. The UBT curriculum provides individuals working with business processes at UofL with the training they need to be effective in their positions. This certification program focuses on university financial and human resource processes and is a blend of online and in-classroom training. The UofL Kosair Charities Pediatric Clinical Research Unit at Kosair Children’s Hospital is conducting a clinical research study to evaluate the safety and dose response of an investigational drug used for high blood pressure. Children from 1 year to < 6 years of age diagnosed with high blood pressure may be eligible for participation. Subjects will be compensated for time/travel.

The UofL Kosair Charities Pediatric Clinical Research Unit at Kosair Children’s Hospital is conducting a clinical research study to evaluate the safety and dose response of an investigational drug used to treat high blood pressure. Children from 6 through 11 years of age diagnosed with high blood pressure may be eligible for participation. Subjects will be compensated for time/travel.

The UofL Kosair Charities Pediatric Clinical Research Unit at Kosair Children’s Hospital is conducting a clinical research study to evaluate acetaminophen given into a vein to treat moderate to severe pain in infants and children less than 2 years of age following surgery or an injury. Subjects may be compensated for time/travel.

The UofL Kosair Charities Pediatric Clinical Research Unit at Kosair Children’s Hospital is conducting a clinical research study to evaluate an oral liquid pain medicine to treat pain following surgery in children from 2 years through 12 years of age. Subjects may be compensated for time/travel.
