Staff Development & Employee Relations is compiling the Fall Human Resources Training Catalog. We are looking to fill the catalog, so please send your department/unit training and we will advertise them for you. We want to let the university community know more about offerings around them. 2.) GRE Workshop/Lunch/Practice Exam
9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Sept. 7 Room 205 Bingham Humanities Building, Belknap Campus
$20. Preregistration and payment due no later than Aug. 31.
Psi Chi is sponsoring a Kaplan-conducted GRE workshop, lunch and practice exam. Registration is open to anyone interested in attending graduate school (students, faculty, family, friends). Forward check (payable to Psi Chi) to Psi Chi, 317 Life Sciences, Belknap Campus. Include “GRE Workshop,” your name and email address, along with your sandwich selection: ham, turkey, roast beef or veggie. Additional details will be emailed to you.

3.) IRG 2013 deadline is Monday, Oct. 14
The Office of the Executive Vice President for Research and Innovation is accepting applications for Intramural Research Grants. This IRG program aims to provide funds for projects for which the investigator intends to seek external funding. All grant categories are open to full-time faculty. Term faculty, one year or less, are ineligible for MRG, PCG, RIG and URG grants.

4.) Inclusive Campus Environments interest meeting
11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Aug. 27 Shumaker Research Building
Free
The Inclusive Campus Environments (ICE) are small, consistent groups of staff dedicated to creating environments that are inclusive and equitable for all. Groups meet monthly over lunch to discuss topics, films or readings on a variety of topics, as well as share ideas and strategies, and provide mutual support. Lunch is provided, reservations are required. The ICE program is offered as a professional development opportunity. Staff can participate by contacting Marian R. Vasser.

5.) Call for applications: 2013-14 Part-Time Faculty Learning Community
Sept. 4 Delphi Center, Ekstrom Library
The Delphi Center is taking applications through Sept. 4 from part-time faculty for the 2013 - 14 Faculty Learning Community on Critical Thinking. Join a select group of faculty from across UofL in a supportive, collegial atmosphere as we learn to incorporate critical thinking into Gen Ed course assignments. Open to all part-time faculty, with preference given to those who teach Gen Ed courses. Eligible participants have the opportunity to earn a $700 incentive.
