Parking spaces between the Abell Building and Baxter 1 on the Health Sciences Center will be closed from 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, through 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3. Contractors need this area to accommodate large equipment for excavation work on the west side of Baxter 1. The Parking Office will block parking spaces off with cones and/or barricades late Friday afternoon. 2.) Learn about certificate in peace, justice & conflict transformation

Faculty and staff are invited to learn more about the undergraduate certificate in peace, justice and conflict transformation. Guests will gain a better understanding of the rationale and scope of the certificate, learn how current students plan to use the certificate to enhance to their education and careers and other aspects of the program. Light refreshments will be served. RSVPs are appreciated.

Psi Chi is sponsoring a GRE workshop (Kaplan conducted), lunch and practice exam. Registration open to anyone interested in attending graduate school (students, faculty, family and friends). Preregistration and payment are due no later than Aug. 31. Forward check (payable to Psi Chi) to Psi Chi, 317 Life Sciences, Belknap Campus. Include “GRE Workshop,” your name and email address, along with your sandwich selection: ham, turkey, roast beef or veggie.

The Cardiovascular Innovation Institute is pleased to present Sara Nunes Vasconcelos, PhD, assistant scientist, Division of Experimental Therapeutics, Toronto General Research Institute (TGRI). Vasconcelos will give a seminar on “Stem cell-derived Cardiomyocyte maturation by biomimetic topographical and electrical cues.”
