Oct. 27 - 29 Galt House, downtown, Fourth and the River
UofL will host the 19th annual conference of the Coalition of Urban and Metropolitan Universities (CUMU). Exclusive conference rates available for UofL faculty, staff, and students. Full conference rate is $350; One day pass is $200; and student rate is $100.

5.) Code of Student Conduct
UofL has made revisions to the Code of Student Conduct for the upcoming academic year that will take effect today, Monday, Aug. 19. The Dean of Students Office meets with students to assess situations of possible non-academic misconduct as described in the Code of Student Conduct. Read the code.

6.) Student Sexual Misconduct Policy
The Student Sexual Misconduct Policy has been approved for the upcoming academic year and will take effect today, Monday, Aug. 19. The Student Sexual Misconduct Policy outlines options for a student who believes he/she may have been or currently is a victim of sexual misconduct by a student, university visitor or employee within the university community. 7.) PLAN Workshop: What GTAs Need to Know about Blackboard
11 a.m. and 3 p.m. (two sessions) Aug. 21 Ekstrom Library, Room 244 (Delphi Center lab)
Are you a new or continuing GTA with questions about how to make the most of Blackboard for your class? This workshop will cover basic functionality such as login, navigation and document uploads and will also cover the Control Panel, in particular the basics of Blackboard’s Grade Center. This session is a must for any GTA who will be grading and/or teaching using Blackboard. Graduate students interested in attending can register and find more information on the PLAN website.

8.) SuccessfUL Supervisor Series is accepting nominations

The Delphi Center and HR are accepting nominations for the Fall 2013 Successful Supervisor Series. The curriculum is designed to help new and experienced supervisors enhance their skills and bring greater value to the university. Enrollment is limited and is filling quickly.

The UofL Kosair Charities Pediatric Clinical Research Unit at Kosair Children’s Hospital is conducting a clinical research study to evaluate the safety and dose response of an investigational drug used for high blood pressure. Children from 1 year to < 6 years of age diagnosed with high blood pressure may be eligible for participation. Subjects will be compensated for time/travel.

10.) High blood pressure study, 6 years through 11 years old

The UofL Kosair Charities Pediatric Clinical Research Unit at Kosair Children’s Hospital is conducting a clinical research study to evaluate the safety and dose response of an investigational drug used to treat high blood pressure. Children from 6 through 11 years of age diagnosed with high blood pressure may be eligible for participation. Subjects will be compensated for time/travel.

11.) Pain study, infants and toddlers less than 2 years

The UofL Kosair Charities Pediatric Clinical Research Unit at Kosair Children’s Hospital is conducting a clinical research study to evaluate acetaminophen given into a vein to treat moderate to severe pain in infants and children less than 2 years of age following surgery or an injury. Subjects may be compensated for time/travel.
