1.) Learn about the certificate in peace, justice & conflict transformation

Faculty and staff are invited to learn more about the undergraduate certificate in peace, justice and conflict transformation. Guests will gain a better understanding of the rationale and scope of the certificate, learn how current students plan to use the certificate to enhance to their education and careers and other aspects of the program. Light refreshments will be served. RSVPs are appreciated.

Free, public
UofL Kentucky Cancer Program is sponsoring free Cooper Clayton Smoking Cessation classes. The program consists of 13 one-hour weekly sessions. The class is open to all, ages 18 and over. Participants use nicotine replacement products such as the nicotine patch, nicotine gum or nicotine lozenge (free to class attendees). This is a science-based program which uses education, skills training and social support.

4.) Tegrity system will be upgraded tonight
10 p.m. Friday - 2 a.m. Saturday
The Tegrity system will be updated during IT’s regular overnight preventive maintenance period. Features will include a new Web interface, Twitter course notifications, improved sharing options and new print layouts, among other improvements.

5.) Employees asked to nominate outstanding staff performers
Deadline Sept. 13
The Office of the President is accepting nominations for Outstanding Performance Awards. The awards recognize classified and professional/administrative staff for their outstanding performance and commitment to service. Recipients receive plaques, a $1,000 cash award and a letter of appreciation for their personnel files. President James Ramsey also hosts a reception in their honor.

Ekstrom Library will offer an Introduction to EndNote workshop. Attendees will learn the basic features of citation management including, creating custom groups and Cite While You Write. Classes are limited to 10. Register here.
