1.) Open forum for candidate for associate vice president for research and innovation
10 a.m. Nov. 27 Room 124, Clinical and Translational Research Building, Health Sciences Center
Faculty, staff and students are invited to participate in an open forum for the first of two finalists for the post of associate vice president for research and innovation (AVPRI). The AVPRI will be charged to work with the UofL, Metro Louisville and Commonwealth of Kentucky communities to develop an ecosystem that promotes and develops transformational ideas throughout the research-development-commercialization continuum and will be responsible for the full development of UofL invention.

2.) Forums on 21st Century University Initiative set for Nov. 29
Nov. 29, 9 a.m. Baxter Auditorium, Health Sciences Center; 1 p.m. Floyd Theater, Belknap Campus
UofL officials will host two forums for faculty, staff and students to hear more about and comment on the university’s 21st Century University Initiative.

3.) Online Course Evaluation Days
Nov. 26, Nov. 27
Students are urged to complete online course evaluations during this week’s Evaluation Days. Dedicated labs are set up across the university to facilitate course evaluation completion and staff will be available if students have questions and/or experience difficulty. Ten $500 student incentives will be awarded and snacks/drinks are being provided courtesy of SODEXO. Important Reminder: Online course evaluations are open through Dec. 5.

4.) Latin American and Latino Studies internship poster session
3:30 p.m.–4:30 p.m. Nov. 28 Room 139, Shumaker Research Building, Belknap Campus

Come learn about the LALS Programs and opportunities to get involved with the community through our local and foreign internships. The session will feature presentations by Brittany Stevenson and Kristen Connors about their LALS internships in Peru. This is a great opportunity to see how UofL students have impacted our community and the world. We will also celebrate our December graduates. Refreshments will be provided.

5.) University of Louisville Yearlings Club Holiday Reception

Free and open to public
Join us for the University of Louisville Yearlings Club Holiday Reception featuring The Jerry Tolson Quartet. Bring a toy. All gifts will go to the Salvation Army. Light refreshments will be served. Sponsored by the A&S Office for International, Diversity and Outreach Programs.

6.) 2013 Employee Contribution limit for 403(b) Plan
IRS regulations limit the maximum annual contributions an employee can make to a tax-deferred retirement plan. For 2013, the maximum amount that can be contributed to the UofL 403(b) Plan is $17,500 (if you are under age 50) or $23,000 (if you are age 50 or older). Make changes to your contribution percentage that you contribute out of your pay at Netbenefits.com.
