1.) Gheens Science Hall and Rauch Planetarium: Annual holiday party

$5 per person (no discounts, coupons or free admissions).
Families have a blast at our annual holiday party where kids get to play holiday games, get holiday treats and everyone gets to see a combination of our unique holiday shows: “Season of Light” (exploring the roots of various holiday traditions) and “Holiday Laser Music Show” (lots of sing-a-long songs filled with fun holiday-themed laser images).

Join us for Department of Medicine Grand Rounds featuring Andrew J. Lenneman, MD, assistant professor of medicine in the UofL Division of Cardiovascular Medicine. Lenneman will present “Treatment of Advanced Heart Failure with Ventricular Assist Devices,” focusing on identifying advanced heart failure patients, discussing outcomes of VAD clinical trials and molecular and structural changes following treatment with VAD. We’ll see you there.

5.) Summer Medical Dental Education Program
Applications are now being accepted from college freshman and sophomore students for the 2013 Summer Medical and Dental Education Program. Students enroll in a 3-credit hour (tuition free) course that integrates various science curricula to solve medical/dental clinical cases. They also receive free meals, housing, supplies and a stipend. Please direct students to the Summer Medical and Dental Education Program website for applications.
