The cover of Naslund's new novel is a self-portrait of painter Élisabeth Vigée-Le Brun, Marie Antoinette’s favorite portrait artist. The French Revolution forced Vigée-Le Brun to move and work abroad.

The novel, set in Naslund’s own Old Louisville neighborhood, tells the story of a writer and her novel about the woman who was Marie Antoinette’s favorite portrait artist. Naslund also has a Marie Antoinette connection. Her book, “Abundance: A Novel of Marie Antoinette,” was published in 2006.

Books will be available for purchase and signing by the author.

Event sponsors are Archives and Special Collections and the Creative Writing Program.
