H1N1 (swine flu) vaccine to be available for campus community Dec. 7

by UofL Today last modified Dec 04, 2009 05:26 PM

UofL's Campus Health Services will offer the free 2009 H1N1 (swine flu) vaccine to students, faculty and staff on Monday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Miller Information Technology Center on the lower level (just outside of the McAlister's).

Campus Health has about 500 doses of the injectable vaccine and 200 doses of the flu mist. You should NOT take the H1N1 flu mist if you are age 50 or over, pregnant or have asthma.

The vaccine will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis. If you plan to get the vaccine you should bring some type of UofL identification.

It is not necessary to complete the consent form in advance (copies will be available at the vaccination site), but if you prefer to do so you can download the consent form by going to the UofL flu website and clicking on "Download The Consent Form."

Learn more about the vaccine and who should get it at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
