Teaching Certification in Art Education (P-12)

Unit: College of Education and Human Development

Students interested in teacher certification first complete a baccalaureate degree in an appropriate academic field before entering the teacher certification program at the graduate level. Students must apply and be accepted into the Master of Arts in Teaching degree program in order to complete teacher certification.

The following courses are pre-requisites for application to the Master of Arts in Teaching degree in Art Education (P-12). They may be taken as part of the baccalaureate degree program. In addition to these courses, other application credentials must be submitted. A Bachelor’s degree including:

Type Hours
Speech Communication 3
(OR Speech Proficiency Exam)  
Teaching major in Art Minimum of 30 hours
