Sarah Chen Elston (She/Her) is a 3rd year MFA in Performance student at UofL. She is a Hope Punk performance artist who creates work that asks big questions and activates kindness as a radical act. Originally based in Johnstown, PA, she holds a BA in Theatre Arts from Guilford College with a focus in performance and direction. She is a 2014 alum of the National Student Leadership Conference and returned as a Teaching Artist in 2017.  She has also worked with Triad Stage (Greensboro, NC) as an Assistant Teaching Artist for their summer camp series. While at UofL, she has been in The Birds (2021), Twelfth Night (2021), Code Switch (2021), #Hashtag (2022), and Blood at the Root (2022). She is currently touring a Theatre for Young Audience show with the UofL Repertory Company, and will be in the UofL production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Sarah is committed to facilitating conversations on ways to continue to make theatre a safer space that represents and advocates for all identities.
