UofL Relocates More Trees Out of the Path of Destruction

A major development of early 2021 will be the demolition of Threlkeld Hall and the construction of a second new 450-bed residence hall on the south side of the Clocktower. Unfortunately, that means the removal of some of our stately giants that grew in the footprint of the new dorm.

But we are thrilled that our intrepid Grounds Crew was able to save two young maple trees by relocating them out of the path of destruction! The trees found new homes on the south side of University Pointe, where they will one day help shade the parking lot and picnickers in Stansbury Park…and perhaps we’ll tap them in the winter to make maple syrup (join us on Friday, January 15th at noon in the Garden Commons to learn how at our Maple Tapping Workshop!).
