McConnell Center Talk: George C. Marshall-American Leader for All Seasons

Sixty years ago, U.S. Secretary of State George C. Marshall received the Nobel Peace Prize for his post-World War II work and his economic support plan to help rebuild European countries. Marshall is the only U.S. Army General to receive the prize. In this free, public McConnell Center lecture, Lt. Gen. (ret.) Josiah Bunting III–a noted scholar, educator, military officer and college president–will discuss Marshall's leadership through national turmoil and his enduring legacy. Bunting is currently writing a biography of Marshall. This event, scheduled for Oct. 28, 6-7 p.m., in Ekstrom Library's Chao Auditorium, is part of the McConnell Center's 2013 "Milestones of the 20th Century: Democracy in America" public lecture series. http://louisville.edu/mcconnellcenter/events/s/lectures/george-marshall-american-leader-all-seasons
