Graduate Assistants in the Student Activities Office often collaborate on multiple projects. Current projects include:
- Assessment on commuter and resident student involvement levels in Recognized Student Organizations
- Fraternity and Sorority Recruitment
- Recognized Student Organization meetings
- Event Policy and Planning
- Other programs and assessments
I collaborate with other GA's and staff members whenever I do a RSO meeting, workshops, and do program proposals. There are so many different ways in which GA's in Student Activities can collaborate with other offices!
Being in such a close community fosters collaboration both with professional staff members and other Graduate Assistants. Frequently, tasks will be accomplished in cooperation with another staff member, or a committee of staff and students. Not only does collaboration occur in the accomplishment of duties directly related to my assistantship, but also through projects with other offices and departments. The close community encourages staff members to become involved in projects wherever they may have an interest. - Matthew Vetter, GA-Programming, Student Activities
By working as a GA, you will have the opportunity to work with other GA’s, on various projects. If you see a need for a new program, event or assessment, you have the opportunity and encouragement of staff members to accomplish such goals.
