Uptick in Campus Positivity Rate and Protocols RemindersDue to a recent uptick in positive COVID-19 cases in our campus community and Jefferson County being in the red zone, it is imperative that we all double our efforts in following the health and safety protocols. Many of our campus cases last week were due to behavior that took place off campus, including attendance at large events/parties and participation in study groups without masking and physical distancing. Remember: Get Tested and Make a Plan Before TravelingWe have only a little more than two weeks of in-person instruction remaining. Let’s finish the semester strong. If you are planning on traveling to visit family or friends over the Thanksgiving holiday, the next two weeks are critical: Isolation and Quarantine RemindersIf you test positive for COVID-19, you must self-isolate for a minimum of 10 days unless you live in a communal living situation which requires that you isolate for 14 days (per the Kentucky Department of Health and Louisville Metro Health Department). If you were exposed to someone with COVID-19 or traveled to a location with a positivity rate of 15% or higher, you must quarantine for 14 days. A negative test at any point in the quarantine period does not shorten your quarantine time. Additionally, you are not
required to show proof of a negative test in order to return to campus from an isolation or quarantine period. For more details, review the Symptoms and Sickness FAQs. Students who are residents at the university should review the Self-Isolation for Residents FAQs. We Need Your ResponsesStudent Support Offices from across the university need YOUR responses.
