On May 9 at 10 a.m. join President Bendapudi and campus, local and state leaders at uofl.edu/hereandbeyond2020 as we honor the Class of 2020. Join in the celebration by using #UofLGrads2020 on social media to share photos, stories and words of support.

University News.

Summer Jobs

Check out the University Career Center’s Who’s Hiring web page for leads on positions in the greater Louisville area.  The page contains select positions from Handshake as well as local organizations such as KentuckianaWorks, Summer Works, and the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.  Employers continue to post part-time positions of all types in Handshake.  Some positions will fill quickly and other positions may have been influenced by social distancing.  Students should also make sure their profiles are complete and resumes have been reviewed.

Unemployment Benefits for Students

If a student was working a part-time job or full-time job while enrolled, and the employer closed because of the coronavirus pandemic, the student may be eligible for unemployment benefits. Generally, full-time college students are not eligible for unemployment benefits.  College students who are unable to work because they or a member of their household has been diagnosed with COVID-19, they are caring for a child or other member of their household who is unable to attend school because the school is closed due to the coronavirus public health emergency, they are under quarantine or lockdown, or their employer has closed because of the public health emergency, may be eligible for pandemic unemployment assistance.

Computer Access

A computer resource room with printing options will open in the SAC w303 on April 28.  The Computer Resource room will be open M-F 9:00 am - 5:00 pm and Saturday/Sunday from 11:30 am - 5:00 pm. The computer resource room will follow all social distance guidelines and will be monitored by UofL staff who will follow CDC guidelines by cleaning each computer after every use.

Ekstrom Library Closed from April 29 to May 10

Ekstrom Library is closed April 29 to May 10,and  reopening May 11. Our online chat and other remote services will continue to be available during Ekstrom’s closure. If you need study space and computers, visit the Student Activity Center (SAC) on the Belknap campus. After May 11, Ekstrom Library will be open for limited hours with a current UofL identification card. Please use the West entrance during operating hours. The East entrance will remain closed. Book circulation is suspended indefinitely. Please ignore automated emails on past-due materials. Outgoing Interlibrary Loan requests for physical materials will be suspended, but requests for PDFs of articles will be filled as available. Get research help through the online chat service. Set up research appointments by specialty.
