COVID-19 Testing and Mitigation

Testing for COVID-19 will be provided by the university in two phases:
Phase 1 - Testing will be available on weekdays from August 10 through August 21 on the Belknap and HSC campuses for all university members. UofL strongly urges all students, faculty and staff to get registered and tested. For details on how to registered, testing times, testing site locations and what to bring, visit the Testing section of the Health Protocols tab on UofL's COVID-19 website. Additional testing dates may be scheduled depending upon the prevalence of the virus in the community.
Phase 2 -  For the remainder of the semester, Campus Health will provide tests for our university community, but due to limited supply they are prioritizing those tests for university members who are displaying signs and symptoms Register here.

If you are concerned you may have COVID-19, or may have been in contact with someone who is positive for COVID-19, you should:
1.       Stay at home.
2.       Contact Campus Health at (502) 852-6446.
3.       Contact your medical provider.
PLEASE NOTE: Even if you decide to seek care from your own medical provider, be sure to still inform Campus Health so the university can effectively track COVID-19 cases and ensure proper isolation procedures for our campus community.

UofL’s contact tracing team of dedicated university health professionals will continue to trace, notify, and advise individuals who may have been exposed to a positive COVID-19 person. Visit UofL's COVID-19 website's COVID-19 Mitigation section and the UofL COVID-19 FAQs for more details.

Religious Holy Days and Observances

Federal law and university policy prohibit discrimination on the basis of religious belief. It is the policy of the University of Louisville to accommodate students, faculty, and staff who observe religious work-restricted holy days. Students who observe work-restricted religious holy days must be allowed to do so without jeopardizing their academic standing in any course. Faculty are obliged to accommodate students’ request(s) for adjustments in course work on the grounds of religious observance, provided that the student(s) make such request(s) in writing during the first two (2) weeks of term.

Student Complaints

Students are encouraged to resolve complaints at the appropriate level of dispute; however, should this approach fail or be inappropriate, students may submit written complaints through an online complaint form. All pertinent information should be listed, including date, time, location, parties involved, witnesses, any attempts to resolve the complaint, and desired resolution. Forms submitted without valid contact information will not be processed; anonymous complaints can be submitted in writing to the Dean of Students Office at dos@louisville.edu. Once received, the complaint will be forwarded to the appropriate Department Chair, academic area, or administrative unit for review.

Clubs, Groups, and Organizations.

Usage of Yard Signs

Yards signs are permitted to be placed on the campus grounds by University departments and recognized student organizations.  Non-UofL organizations, business or individuals are not permitted to place yard signs on campus grounds.
Good practices for yard signs includes:

  1. Yard signs should contain the sponsor name and date of the activity.
  2. For signs without a date, the sign should be up no more than 30 days.
  3. Signs should be placed in mulch bed and mulch rings around tree.   Any sign placed in the lawn will be moved to the closest mulch area to the original location by a groundskeeper.
  4. Signs should be removed within 5 business days once the activity is concluded.  Utilizing a map of where signs have been placed can ensure that all signs are taken down.
  5. Signs still up after 5 business days would receive a courtesy call from Grounds Services to remove the yard promptly.
  6. If signs are not removed, Grounds will remove signs for responsible disposal.
