1. HSC Buildings Signs with ID Reminders

Faculty, staff and students on the Health Sciences Center are seeing new signs on the doors reminding them they are required to have their University ID badges to enter the buildings on the campus. People are reminded to not let people in who don’t have their badges, which means they may have to actually NOT hold the doors for visitors. Visitors should be met by their party at the door or outside to be admitted to the building. This includes all buildings on HSC except clinics, Abell, Kornhauser Library. 

2. Student Activities Center Summer Hours

Monday through Thursday 8 am to 9 pm
Friday 8 am to 6 pm
Closed on most weekends

3. SAC July 4 Holiday Hours

SAC is Closed Saturday, July 1, Sunday, July 2 and Tuesday July 4. The SAC will be open limited Hours on Monday, July 3, from 8 am until 6 pm.
 

4. Request to Change Your Major Through ULink

“Change Major Request” is a new tool in ULink that can be used to: 1) Request to change your major, 2) Add a major or minor, and 3) Declare your major. The tool can be utilized by all undergraduate students at the University of Louisville.
 

5. Cards Under the Stars Features ‘The Lego Batman Movie’

June 30; Activities begin at 6:30 p.m., movie begins at dark, Natural Sciences Lawn; Free. UofL’s free summer movie series returns with “The Lego Batman Movie.” Pre-movie activities include children’s inflatables, and appearances by the Louisville League of Mascots and Lego Batman. The J.B. Speed School of Engineering will host a table featuring Lego robotics and will hold a drawing for one 2018 Lego Camp scholarship. Concessions will be available for purchase from 502 Café, SnoWhat Snoballs and Get In Your Belly Deli. You should bring blankets or lawn chairs.
 

6. First-Year Leadership Programs

Are you a first-year student looking to become a leader? Join the “Student Leadership Programs” portal on OrgSync and stay up to date on various leadership opportunities, tips, and information around campus so you can discover the leader in you!
 

7. Nominate for Josh Smith Sustainability Award

In honor of a former student who volunteered at his alma mater and then died unexpectedly, UofL has established this new annual award to recognize community members who give back to UofL’s sustainability efforts. Nominate by 9/1/17 via brian.barnes@louisville.edu

TIPS FOR CYCLISTS TO IMPROVE THEIR SAFETY:

  • Always ride with the flow of traffic.
  • Ride at least three feet from parked cars.
  • Yield to traffic before entering or crossing a roadway.
  • Yield to overtaking traffic before moving across one or more lanes.
