1. UofL Human Trafficking Awareness Conference

The University of Louisville Women’s Center and Women4Women Student Board are raising awareness of human trafficking in Kentucky to educate students and the community about the complex issue of human trafficking and to encourage taking action to prevent it. The 6th Annual Human Trafficking Awareness Conference will be 5:30pm to 9:00pm, Feb. 2, in the Swain Student Activities Center’s Multi-purpose room. 3. PLAN: What Do You Mean You'd Like Me to Present My Research?

This session will prepare students to effectively present their research at an academic conference, public forum, or a thesis or dissertation defense. Students will learn practical strategies for dealing with stage fright and communicating information during an oral presentation. Finally, students will learn how to create scientific posters and how to handle the author session for discussing their poster during an academic conference. This workshop will be held Tuesday, February 2, 2016 from 4pm - 5pm in Houchens Building, Room 105. 6. Bound Together: The Art of Bookbinding Exhibits

Emphasizing artful and unique bookbinding methods is the exhibit “Folded Books,” which will be on display in Bridwell Art Library.  The focus is a small selection of artist’s books which use only glue and folded paper, rather than the sewn bindings emphasized in an exhibit running concurrently at the ASC Library, “Under Cover.”  Unusual bindings, such as flag books, tunnel books, and ox-plow books, will be on display.  Exibit opens 2/1/16 in the Bridwell Art Library https://www.facebook.com/events/1067075450038042

7. MAX Night at SRC

SRC Max Night Challenge is Tuesday, February 2. Students can test their limit on the Bench Press. Participation id FREE and no pre-registration is required. 12. Call for Donations for the Book and Media Sale

Honors Student Council is proud to announce its bi-annual Book and Media Sale (BAMS), which will be held during the week of April 2, 2016! All proceeds will go to Camp Quality Kentuckiana, a nonprofit that organizes summer camps for children living with cancer. We need help gathering donations such as gently-used books, DVDs, CDs, records, and video games. 13. Volunteers Needed to Staff UofL Free Store

Can you spare an hour to help run the UofL Free Store in Unitas Hall this spring? We need your help to keep the doors open & offer a space for the on-going free exchange of clean, durable items like clothing, shoes, electronics, appliances, household items, books, non-perishable food, bath/school/art supplies, etc. The store is run by volunteers (no special training or knowledge required) and open to all UofL students & employees. 14. Participants Needed for Blood Draw Study

UofL's School of Medicine and the American Heart Association Tobacco Research and Addiction Center (A-TRAC) are conducting a study that will use blood to study the effects of flavoring added to both tobacco products and e-cigarettes. We will do a one-time blood draw of less than 2 tablespoons. The study is recruiting healthy unmedicated young adults (21-45 years of age) who have never used tobacco. The study will be one visit that will last approximately 30 minutes. Participant compensation will be $30 as a Swift pre-paid card.  Additional Information: A-TRAC study personnel- atrac@louisville.edu  502-852-4236.  Clinical Trials Unit at the UofL Healthcare Outpatient Center.

15. 100 Reasons Why Campaign

The Office of Student Involvement is launching a social media campaign and needs YOUR help. Any student who is involved in the UofL community, whether it be through an RSO or another channel, come to the Office of Student Involvement and participate in our campaign. Simply write down one reason why you decided to become involved and have your picture taken and posted on our Instagram account (@ulstudentlife)! Come to SAC W310 anytime Mon., Wed., or Fri., between 11am-1pm to participate. 16. Vote Everywhere Ambassadors Needed

The Engage Lead Serve Board is looking for 2 students to fill ambassador positions with the Vote Everywhere project. Vote Everywhere is part of the Andrew Goodman Foundation and is a nonpartisan “national network of college student leaders who inspire and mobilize their peers to use their votes, voices, and resources to drive progress on the issues they care about most."
