University News

1. Student Rights & Responsibilities

The Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities is set forth in writing in order to give students general notice of their rights and responsibilities at the University of Louisville. http://louisville.edu/dos/students/studentrightsandresponsibilities

2. Religious Holy Days and Observances

Federal law and university policy prohibit discrimination on the basis of religious belief. It is the policy of the University of Louisville to accommodate students, faculty, and staff who observe religious work-restricted holy days. Students who observe work-restricted religious holy days must be allowed to do so without jeopardizing their academic standing in any course. Faculty are obliged to accommodate students’ request(s) for adjustments in course work on the grounds of religious observance, provided that the student(s) make such request(s) in writing during the first two (2) weeks of term. http://louisville.edu/facultysenate/documents/calendars/workrestricted2016-2017

3. Student Handbook

The University of Louisville’s Student Handbook informs students of academic matters, opportunities for involvement, and describes programs/services to help improve the quality of each student’s educational experience. The Handbook also provides information about the policies governing students during their tenure at the university. These policies express expectations of behavior and protect the rights of the individual. Each student and student group is held responsible for the policies of the university currently in effect or put into effect by the appropriate authorities of the University of Louisville. http://louisville.edu/dos/students/studentpoliciesandprocedures/student-handbook

4. CardBook

5. Sign Up for a Campus Mailbox

Expecting care packages from home? Do you shop online? If you are living in a traditional residence hall — Miller, Threlkeld, Unitas, or Louisville — and expect to receive packages through the U.S. Postal Service, UPS or FedEx, you’re going to need a campus mailbox. UofL’s Mail Services will help you secure a mailbox. Located in the north side of the Houchens Building, hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday throughout the semester. For your convenience, Mail Services also will set up satellite locations from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, Aug. 19, at the Students Activities Center Food Court, and Monday and Wednesday, Aug. 22 and 24, in the first floor of the SAC outside the bookstore. Students will need $5 cash and a photo ID to register for a box. You can sign up any time during the semester. But you won’t receive any mail until you have a box.
