MPH graduate, Jamie Smimble, begins CDC fellowship
Congratulations to alumna Jamie Smimble who began a fellowship with the CDC at the end of August after finishing the MPH program in May 2015. Jamie’s placement, which lasts 12 months, is in Atlanta at the CDC's National Syndromic Surveillance Program.
Jamie says she wanted to apply concepts learned in the classroom in a practical setting. “I applied to ORISE because it is highly technical and will help develop my skills with various data management tools and statistical packages, along with providing exposure to the range of programs being implemented at the national level,” she explained.
She landed the fellowship through the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE). Are you looking for an opportunity after graduation? Check out the internships, scholarships and fellowships that ORISE offers at national laboratories and federal research facilities.
