Lee Bewley appointed to American College of Healthcare Executives Council of Regents
Lee Bewley, Ph.D., FACHE, Associate Professor, Director, Health Management Programs, Dept. of Health Management and Systems Sciences, was appointed to the Council of Regents, the legislative body of the American College of Healthcare Executives during the 2025 Congress for Healthcare Leadership. Dr. Bewley will represent the Kentucky Chapter for a three-year period (2025 – 2028).
The American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) is an international professional society of more than 50,000 healthcare executives who lead hospitals, healthcare systems and other healthcare organizations. With an understanding of ACHE’s policies, programs and services, the Council of Regents harnesses its collective skill and will to advance ACHE’s vision, mission and values. The Council provides advice and counsel to the Board of Governors and is responsible for electing the Board and its Chair. It is through the Council’s support that the Board is able to steer the national organization and carry out ACHE’s mission to advance its members and healthcare leadership excellence.
Board certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow, Bewley is a member of the Association of University Programs in Health Administration and Academy of Management-Health Management Division. He was the President, Kentucky Chapter from 2020 – 2022. Bewley is a retired Army officer and combat veteran having served twenty-three years in leadership roles including Commander, Program Director, and Associate Dean as a Medical Service Corps officer. In 2016, Bewley joined the faculty of the UofL School of Public Health and Information Sciences. Additionally, he is a Fellow and accreditation official with the Commission on Accreditation for Healthcare Management Education and the author of several book chapters, articles, presentations on healthcare management.
