Kentucky Public Health Association Conference 2015

SPHIS took part in the annual Kentucky Public Health Association (KPHA) conference held April 14 – 16 in Owensboro, KY.

The KPHA conference is an opportunity for our faculty and students to present their research, as the school works to promote healthy communities through the dissemination of new knowledge.

Dr. Richard W. Wilson, Chair, Department of Health Promotion and Behavioral Sciences, presented the poster, “Healthy Hoops Asthma Home Visits”.

Susan Buchino, MS, OTR/L, doctoral candidate, presented "Local Implementation of the Affordable Care Act Results of Collaboration in Jefferson County".

Several Master of Public Health (MPH) students presented posters at the KPHA 2015 conference.

Stephanie Lunn presented “Global Health Initiative: Implementation of a Hepatitis C Testing Program for Newly Arriving Refugees Seen in the 550 Clinic”.


Katlyn McGraw presented “Creating a Pamphlet on Over the Counter Medications to be Distributed among Refugees Resettling in the Louisville Area”.

Jamie Smimble presented “Community Asset Mapping in West Louisville”.


Priscillia White presented “Determining Satisfaction with Refugee Immunization Clinic Services Among Resettlement Agency Caseworkers”.

Victory Osezua's abstract, “Global Health Initiative: Satisfaction among Spanish and Arabic Speaking Refugees Receiving Immunization in the University of Louisville Refugee Immunization Clinic”, was accepted as a poster presentation but she was unable to attend.
