Endowed lectureship to strengthen public health school
Public health faculty, students and staff will soon have the opportunity to bring more national and international speakers to the School of Public Health and Information Sciences through a new lecture series.
Thanks to a $50,000 gift that establishes the Woodson Lectureship Endowment, the school hopes to invite its first highly recognizable guest in the series during National Public Health Week in April 2016, an ideal time to speak about public health issues, according to the school’s dean, Craig Blakely, PhD, MPH.
“Our ability to bring additional high profile speakers to our campus helps build the reputation of the school and speaks to the caliber of our programs,” Blakely said. “We are most grateful for this gift.”
