Pecan and Fruit Smothered Cheese Ball

Makes 16 servings


  • 3 8oz package Greek yogurt cream cheese, softened
  • 1 package organic ranch dressing mix
  • 2 cups finely chopped spinach (frozen, thawed, and drained well or fresh)
  • 3 cups part-skim cheddar cheese, finely shredded
  • 8oz natural blackberry preserves or fruit spread of your choice (look for a local, homemade variety at your local farmers market)
  • 4oz pecans, chopped


  1. Mix cream cheese, ranch dressing mix, and spinach until smooth.
  2. Line clear bowl or saucepan with plastic wrap, hanging extra over the edges.
  3. Begin to layer ingredients: pecans, cream cheese mixture, then shredded cheese until out of ingredients.
  4. Refrigerate bowl at least 2-3 hours.
  5. Invert on plate and spread preserves on top.
  6. Serve with whole wheat cracker varieties.
