Homemade (sort of) Pizza
Serves 4
Ingredients
- Pre-made100% whole wheat crust (Boboli used)
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil, divided
- 1/2 cup jarred pizza sauce
- 1 cup sautéed veggies (examples: spinach, onion, and bell pepper)
- 1/2 cup crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded, part skim mozzarella cheese
- Veggie toppings of your choice (the more the better)
- 1 Tbsp. Italian seasonings (Tuscan Sunset from Penzeys Spices used)
Directions
- Pre-heat oven according to crust package directions.
- In sauté pan, heat 1 Tbsp. olive oil. Add raw vegetables and sauté until soft.
- In blender, mix pizza sauce, crushed tomatoes and sautéed vegetables.
- Place crust on pizza pan and spread remaining olive oil on outer edge.
- Cover center of crust in blended pizza sauce. Top with cheese, veggie toppings and Italian seasoning.
- Bake according to package directions, until golden brown.
*Note: Short on time? Just use all jarred pizza sauce and just add raw veggies as toppings! No sautéing or blending needed.
