What you will experience?
Preview Day allows us to offer a first-hand look at the UofL School of Public Health & Information Sciences. You will:
-- Learn about the various degree options and career opportunities in the field of public health
-- Get answers to your admissions and degree related questions directly from faculty and staff members
-- Learn about the latest development and achievements in Public Health
-- Get to know the school’s community of students, faculty and staff
-- Hear directly from our current students and alumni
-- Receive an application fee waiver to SPHIS for Fall 2023
Who should attend?
This event is open to anyone interested in receiving a public health undergraduate or graduate degree. We welcome:
-- High school students in the college exploration phase
-- College graduates interested in Masters or doctoral degree
-- Health professionals looking for higher education
-- High school counselors, teachers, and administrators
-- Parents of future students
-- Transfer students
Agenda
09:00 – 09:15 a.m. - Welcome Note: Dean – School of Public Health & Information Sciences
09:15 – 09:40 a.m. - Introduction by the SPHIS academic departments
09:40 – 09:50 a.m. - Q & A with Dean and Chairs.
10:00 – 11:00 a.m. - Breakout sessions (no formal presentations, attendees interested in graduate programs can switch between sessions to meet with multiple departments)
-- Undergraduate Programs – All students interested in undergraduate public health programs majors and minors
-- Student Services & Graduate Admissions – For any application, admissions, tuition, or general inquiry about graduate school.
-- MPH (all concentrations) – Meet with the Director of the MPH program, Dr. Brian Guinn.
-- Bioinformatics & Biostatistics – MS Biostatistics; Cert. in Biostatistics; Ph.D. in Biostatistics
-- Epidemiology & Population Health - MS Epidemiology; Ph.D. Public Health Sciences with a specialization in Epidemiology
-- Health Management & System Sciences - MS Health Administration; MS Health Administration Executive Track; MS Health -- Data Analysis (online only); Dual degree in MPH – Health Policy & MS Health Administration; Ph.D. Public Health Sciences with specialization in Health Management & Policy
-- Health Promotion & Behavioral Sciences – Ph.D. Public Health Sciences with specialization in Health Promotion & Behavioral Sciences
11:30 – 12:30 p.m. - Student Panel Discussion
12:30 – 01:00 p.m. - Last minute Q & A, the student services team will be online for any last-minute questions from attendees
