"The Modified-Half-Normal distribution: properties and efficient sampling scheme"

We introduce a new family of distribution named Modified-Half-Normal distribution. We discuss its relevance in literature and study its distributional properties. We show that the normalizing constant of this distribution is the Fox-Wright Psi function while the moments are ratios of appropriate Fox-Wright Psi functions. One of the major components of this article is the development of an efficient sampling algorithm for generating samples from the distribution so that it can facilitate efficient Markov Chain Monte Carlo sampling algorithm for a number of diverse Bayesian Procedures in literature.
