Public Health Training Certificate

The online Graduate Certificate in Public Health Training is designed for working professionals seeking foundational knowledge and skills in public health.

Offered by the School of Public Health and Information Sciences, this 100% online, 4-course (12 credit hour) graduate certificate will prepare students to promote a healthier world through practical applications of public health. The certificate curriculum includes introductory courses in epidemiology, biostatistics, health behavior, and health policy.

Graduates of the certificate program will be prepared to use leading-edge techniques to protect and improve the health of communities through epidemiological investigation, policy development, and health promotion.

Admissions Information

Applicants should apply through the Graduate School’s Online Graduate Application for Admissions website. Application’s are accepted for the Fall and Spring semesters. There are no Summer admissions. There is no formal deadline.

-- Application fee
-- A minimum of two letters of recommendation related to the applicant’s academic or professional history
-- Official transcripts indicating conferral of a bachelor’s degree

Coursework

Certificate to MPH

If a student chooses to pursue the Master of Public Health (MPH) degree at any time after enrolling in or completing the Certificate program, then all coursework completed within the preceding three years with a grade of B or better may be applied towards the coursework for the MPH degree.
