Karla Welch

Associate Professor, Electrical & Computer Engineering


Dr. Karla Conn Welch received her undergraduate degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Kentucky. She received her MS in 2005 and PhD in 2009 in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Vanderbilt University. In early 2010, she began as an Assistant Professor in the University of Louisville’s ECE department. She is the recent recipient of an NSF BRIGE grant titled, “Emotion Mapping of Children through Human-robot Interaction and Affective Computing.
