Harry Zhang

Assistant Professor, Computer Engineering & Computer Science


Dr. Harry Zhang is an Assistant Professor of the Computer Engineering and Computer Science Department at the University of Louisville. He earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science from Zhejiang University, China in 1999 and 2002 respectively, and Ph.D. degree from Indiana University in 2009. Dr. Zhang directs the Visualization and Intensive Graphics Lab.

Research Interests/Activities

Dr. Zhang’s research interests lie in the areas of visualization, specifically focusing on mathematical visualization, medical visualization, and big data representation. In particular, he investigates the use of visual-haptic interfaces to depict abstract mathematical and physical concepts and entities, and the combination of the interactive visualization and super-computing to address today’s big data challenges.
