Monica Gentili

Dr. Monica Gentili received her Ph.D. in Operations Research from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” (Italy) in 2003. Dr. Gentili holds a Laurea degree in Statistics from Italy. Prior to joining the Speed School of Engineering at U of L, Dr. Gentili was Assistant Professor at University of Salerno (Italy) from 2005 and Visiting Assistant Professor at Georgia Institute of Technology from 2013 to 2015.

Academic Experience

Dr. Gentili’s teaching interests include operations research methods, foundations of optimization, linear programming, network flows, modelling and analysis of health care systems, and transportation in logistics.

Research Experience

Dr. Gentili’s expertise is in combinatorial optimization with particular emphasis on location/allocation problems and network flow optimization. Her main interest is model and algorithm design for problems with application in health care systems, traffic management and control, and telecommunication networks.
