Ellen Brehob

Associate Professor, Mechanical Engineering


Ellen G. Brehob, is an Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering and has been working at UofL since 1995. Prior to coming to academia, Dr. Brehob was an NRC Research Associate in Morgantown, WV and worked at General Motors in Warren, MI.

Academic Experience

Dr. Brehob teaches courses in the thermal sciences and has taught undergraduate thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer and at the graduate level she has taught heat transfer and an applied engineering course in HVAC. Recently she has been involved with Int'l Service Learning and working with a diverse group of students through this program.

Research Experience

She has been involved in research related to the development of a numerical model for a microfluidic device, a thermal model of a solar heat pipe wall, and thermal model of a building wall with phase change material.

Service Experience

Dr. Brehob is a member of ASHRAE and serves as the liaison between the professional chapter and the students. She chairs the ME Curriculum Committee
