Master of Science in Civil Engineering
The program requires a minimum of 30 credits for completion: a core of 24 hours and 6 hours of electives. All courses are available in online format. For a complete list of course requirements, see the graduate catalog. Course descriptions can be found in the online schedule of courses.
Students will leave the program prepared for in-demand careers in transportation engineering, working jointly with planning and design professionals to solve the transportation issues of today and the future.
To be eligible for admission to the program applicants must have:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree from an regionally accredited institution
- 2.75 cumulative grade point average (GPA) on 4.0 scale
In addition to completing the application for admissions and paying the non-refundable application fee, applicants must provide:
Official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate work
Graduate Record Examination (GRE) score at or above 295 combined verbal & quantitative (or at or above 1000 on the old grading scale)

Applications received at least six weeks prior to the beginning of a term will be given priority.
Applicants are considered on a case-by-case basis. Students not meeting the minimum requirements may still be admitted. Remedial work may be specified for those applicants who, in the opinion of the faculty, do not have a sufficient background in civil engineering.
